How to Use Bing IndexNow API for Better Search Console?
The Bing IndexNow API allows website owners to instantly notify search engines about content changes, such as new pages, updates, or deletions. This guide will show you how to generate an API key and add it to your website.
Step 1: Generate an API Key
Before you can use IndexNow, you need an API key to authenticate your submissions.
-
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on download button
-
Copy the API key and save the downloaded file securely
Step 2: Add the API Key to Your Website
You need to place the key in a publicly accessible location on your site so that search engines can verify it.
-
Go to your host or VPS and navigate to the root folder of your website (generally public or public_html)
-
Upload the API key file inside this folder
-
The file should be accessible from the address https://yourWebsite.com/your-api-key.txt
-
Example:
